SquidFoo is home to many unique and talented creators. Sculptors, painters, builders, engineers and techs are all under one roof sharing their talents to provide Springfield with some of the most unique art, projects, and items in town.
Each of these creators have inspired and collaborated on numerous projects while pushing each other to new creative heights. It is this sort of environment that SquidFoo wants to cultivate and the kind of people it seeks.

Scott Sauer
Scott Sauer is the Master Monstermind and Fiend Fabricator behind Scottoons. His art ranges from illustration to paintings to sculpted monsters to ray guns to found art robot construction. Dr. Frankenstein has nothing on Scott. He has been drawing and creating since he was 3 and has no intention of stopping. Ever. “ART or DEATH!” he rarely exclaims. Many artists have influenced Scott’s twisted brain, such as: Maurice Sendak, Jim Henson, Theodore Giesel, Ed Roth, M.C. Escher, Claus Oldenburg, Albrecht Durer, Tim Burton, Rube Goldberg, Gary Larson, and Bill Watterson. Scott is one of the co-creators and co-conspirators of SquidFoo.
Phillip Broussard
Phillip’s art is inspired by his past. It becomes very easy to see the influences of being a carny for a summer as well as working in the corporate world. There are hints of his past life as a touring musician and working at a dairy farm. Occasionally his past working demolition comes out in a very calm and gentle way.
Why would he want you to know this? Is it to help you understand the troubled mind of this sui generis artist? Maybe. Or could it be that drilling a hole in his thumb has given him a new perspective on life that he wants to share. Perhaps. Maybe he believes it will help him finally discover how many licks it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop.
Phillip has never trusted owls with hats.
Phillip is the other co-creator and co-conspirator of SquidFoo.
Rachel Stirewalt
Rachel is the art curator for the SquidFoo Gallery. She rolled in from the big city of Dallas Texas with a pack mule loaded full of gallery knowledge and serious ninja skills. Believe me when I say this woman is no stranger to the Fight Club. She has the scars to prove it.
Eric Ray

Eric is a traditionally trained Artist/Illustrator and creative border collie that is manning the ship during the week while using his mad Yoda skills or making art, whichever is called for most. In his spare time, he often never fills in for Daniel Craig as super spy James Bond.
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Game console modifier extraordinaire. Not only does Ryan make amazing modifications to gaming systems, he also builds fantastic costumes and props for all sorts of films and projects; everything from a classic Batman and Joker costumes to a Zelda Link costume with sword and shield to a Luigi’s Mansion get up including the ghost sucking backpack to Metroid alien eggs!
Jessi Honeycutt
Jessi (aka Bliss) is a supernova of joy and positivity. Poetry and upcycling is her game. Glitter and words are her weapons of mass creation. Not only does Jessi do amazing art, she and her husband, Eric (Honey), have formed a company called Sustainable Happyness that builds and educations people on the ways and benefits of Aquaponics systems! In fact, they are installing a large set up in the SquidFoo Super Secret Hideout (basement) we are calling the Aquawesomeponics system! We’ll be able to throw impromptu pot-lucks and parties using food RIGHT FROM SQUIDFOO ITSELF!
Kevin Koon
Kevin is a master tinkerer and has tweaked our 3D printer to print like never before!
Kreuger Family
Matt and his son, Gunther, are electronics and programming explorers who have recently joined. Daughter Lily is not only a talented singer who has performed at SquidFoo, she is also an artist! We are excited to have them all aboard!
Shawn McKee
Shawn is the Squidgineer of SquidFoo. He has done (and continues to do) amazing things to constantly improve SquidFoo! His knowledge and skill sets are unmatched by anyone we’ve met. Thanks to Shawn, the Studio has an anti-gravity-drain wash-out sink with instant on-demand hot water, awesome up-cycled up-lighting in the Lounge, all kinds of great equipment in the Collaboratory, and electrical service for the welder in the ChopShop. We are very fortunate to have Shawn as part of the SquidFoo team!
Debbie Madden
Debbie is an artist with mad skills in street art from a spraycan as well as a brush! Debbie’s talents also extend into upcycling melted records into bowls, woodblock print making and excellent illustrations.
Andrew Mitzel
Andrew (aka Bad Ass Bandana Man) is the ChopShop Fooman (like a foreman, but way cooler and way more bad-ass-bandana-ier!). He knows much ado about many things! From technical networking to wood craftsman, Andrew is the man!
Perry Richerson
Perry is an inspirational member with great ideas and knowledge! He’s helping us improve SquidFoo with an automatic door opener to tie in with our RFID entry system!
Tony Sherwood
Tony is the founder of the Springfield Make Club which was the beginning of the hackerspace that is now in SquidFoo. He can bring dead batteries back to life with the blink of an eye and make things you only see in Sci Fi movies. He also introduced us all to the amazing world of 3D printing with a MakerBot Cupcake CNC. In late 2011 Tony moved to New York and is now part of the MakerBot Industries team! Amazing! Tony will always be a great member of the Foo family and we look forward to more visits with him!
